Angelic Pretty’s announcement concerning Day Dream Carnival

Tumblr user rosairenoir has done the liberty of translating Angelic Pretty’s announcement regarding Day Dream Carnival in full. Essentially, they will be re-releasing the dress on a made to order basis.

We apologize for any confusion our earlier post may have caused – we are updating it to reflect rosairenoir’s translation. Thank you!

rosairenoir:

I noticed that there is a lot of misinformation floating around concerning the recent announcement made on the Japanese OHP and the shop blogs, so I have translated the announcement. Please note that the parts where they thank their customers and ask for continued support, etc, were translated in a way to sound nice and not mechanical and strange. The information concerning the rerelease of DDC is accurate.

DDC *WILL* be rereleased. The specific details have not been determined yet. So far this seems to only be for the Japanese customers. Please feel free to reblog and share the heck out of this.

“Thank you for always shopping at Angelic Pretty.
Concerning the release of our most recent original print on March 23, the “Day Dream Carnival Series,” we offer our deepest apologies to all of the customers who had lined up at our stores and were unable to purchase it.
We apologize from the bottom of our hearts for the great trouble this caused you.

We have heard from many customers that they hope for a rerelease of the “Day Dream Carnival Series,” and we have come to the conclusion that we will rerelease the series.
In addition, as a result of many requests, the rerelease will be done on a “make to order” basis.
“Make to order” is a system where the entire payment for the order is due in advance, so we ask for your understanding concerning this matter.

The period of time in which orders will be accepted, the date that the orders will sent out, and other information is still undecided at this time.

When the above information has been decided, it will be announced on the official site, as well as in each individual store as well as the store blogs, so we ask that you please wait.

Thank you for all of your requests, and please continue supporting Angelic Pretty in our future endeavors.”

Attention guests: We are now serving humble pie in the lobby for those of you who were adamant that Angelic Pretty was doing nothing wrong and would never adjust their business model to please their clients.

Angelic Pretty apologizes for Day Dream Carnival release, pledges to do better

Angelic Pretty apologizes, will re-release Day Dream Carnival

Angelic Pretty has been widely criticized for its release of the highly-anticipated Day Dream Carnival series – online stores had uncoordinated releases and extreme server congestion, and those who braved the Japanese shops in-person were subject to the whims of a lottery system simply to enter the store. Scalpers who managed to get a hold of pieces ended up selling them for up to three times as much on online auction sites; there are even stories of proxies buying items for customers and then selling them online instead. This experience echoes that of their previous high-profile release, Gloria.
We were preparing a piece on this, but now we may not have to: Angelic Pretty has issued an apology on their Japanese site, apologizing to fans who were unable to get the dress and acknowledging that they drastically underserved demand. They announce that they will be re-releasing the dress on a made-to-order basis, though dates and exact processes will be announced later.
Overall, it’s an incredibly positive move by a company that has recently struggled in fulfilling the demands of its most hardcore fans.
UPDATE MARCH 26, 2013: Article was updated to reflect new information presented in rosairenoir’s translation of the announcement.

IS THIS REAL LIFE

AATP one looks so nice!

A great post by EGL mod Honeyed on what this ban on EGL actually means. Simply put: it’s a legal issue, not an ethics issue. Although, I find the debate about ethics much more interesting. :)

honeyed:

First up! This post on EGL, again, explains everything, but if you want a quick rundown of it basically what it says is that one of the major Lolita brands contacted the mods (of which I’m one of btw) of EGL, asking that replicas sales/info/discussions be removed from EGL & it’s sales…
