Anna Sui Spring II 2013 Cosmetics Collection

Limited Edition Refreshing Loose Powder, $48

In preparation for the upcoming Summer, Anna Sui will release this limited edition loose powder to help us keep our cool during the hot weather! Firstly with the powder encapsulating water to refresh your skin with a cool texture and secondly with the Lasting Powder & Sebum Absorbing Powder which combined have both oil absorbing and repelling actions. Add to that the brand’s Clear Sliding Powder and Trick Powder technologies and you get a translucent, barely-there finish that camouflages pores and unevenness.

Limited Edition Gift Box, $5

These cute tins have all the imagery we’ve come to associate with our beloved designer: roses, butterflies and fairies! They are the perfect size to store in a few cosmetics as gifts: approximately a width of 11cm x 10cm height.

Limited edition Eye Shadow Palette, $40

Featuring the same lovely imagery as the gift box, Anna Sui is also offering these two eye shadow palettes. You can either pick 01 “Gorgeously Feminine” which features grey, black, pale pink, soft orange, candy ink and gold eyeshadows, or 02 “Gorgeously Cool” which contains grey, black, lavender, pastel blue, light yellow and silver eyeshadows. Each come with 2 sponge-tip and brush applicators.

Limited edition Lip Gloss, $22

And to pair with it, as Anna Sui knows us so well, two limited edition lip gloss colours in the most adorable packaging: a soft pink (01) and a candy red (02).

Limited Edition White Beauty Mirror, $27 (approximate price)

Last year’s beloved stained-glass compact mirror — reminiscent of something you’d see in The Beauty & The Beast, don’t you think? — has returned for a limited time in a brand new pearly white colour.

Face Protection Cream, $32

For their new collection, Anna Sui is introducing a new product in their base makeup line: sunblock. This light oil/water base cream features a high SPF of 50+ and contains a new technology, Clear Sun Cut Powder, a UV scattering formula, combined with four other UV absorbing formulas to effectively protect the skin. Yet, all that powerful sun blocking technology has been crafted so that the finish is completely translucent and non-sticky, instead of the usual whitish and thick finish that sunblock often leaves. Additionally, the Trick Powder ingredient common to Anna Sui’s base makeup was added in, giving a bonus soft focus effect.

How to use it: Apply the Face Protection Cream after your moisturizer, but before your primer.

Limited Edition Pearl Gel Primer, $30

Another product specifically designed for Summer, Anna Sui will release as limited edition this light gel base primer consisting mostly of water with just a little amount of oil. This foundation primer features three special technologies. First, purple, blue and silver pearl beads, made of agar and water soluble particles, release a skin enhancing formula when crushed during application; this creates a thin veil over the surface of the skin to optimize the application of your foundation. Second, the familiar Trick Powder used in all Anna Sui base makeup products to camouflage pores with a soft-focus effect. Lastly, and this is what makes this primer ideal for Summer, is the Sebum Absorbing Powder to fight sweat and oil for a long-lasting finish.

Makeup Mist, ¥2,000 (not available in the US)

A favourite product of mine returns in the line, at last! It’s unfortunate though that it won’t be sold in the US, but it should be fairly easy to find online. This spray cooling lotion controls sebum and help refresh and maintain your makeup for an even longer period. You can either spray the mist right after you are done doing your makeup to prevent the oils from breaking down the fruit of your labor or during the day for a quick and efficient pick me up. I can’t wait to try the new formula!

EMODA COSMETICS

image

Fans of mode gal brand EMODA have something to be excited about! The brand recently released its very own cosmetic line, EMODA COSMETICS. The range currently consists of an impressive assortment of items, including blushes, eye shadows, eyeliners, brow products, mascaras, lipsticks, lip glosses, and nail polish, all housed in slick, MAC-esque packaging. A launch party was held on January 17th to celebrate the line’s debut. In what looks like a move to establish it as a legitimate cosmetics brand, it doesn’t appear that the products will be sold in EMODA boutiques alongside the brand’s clothes. Instead, starting March 15th, EMODA COSMETICS will be up for purchase on the EMODA web store and then subsequently available in Japanese department stores. Prices for the products are as follows:

  • Ripe Lips Rouge Lipstick (15 colors, ¥2980)
  • Ripe Lips Rouge Lip Gloss (7 colors, ¥2480)
  • Lip Makeup Crayon ( 4 colors, ¥2,480)
  • Impressive Eye Color (12 colors, ¥2480)
  • Bold Liquid Eyeliner (2 colors, ¥2980)
  • Slick Eyeliner Pencil (4 colors, ¥2480)
  • Eyebrow Mascara (3 colors, ¥2680)
  • Eyebrow Pencil Duo (3 colors, ¥2680)
  • Eyebrow Powder Duo (2 colors, ¥2680)
  • Eyebrow Base (¥2980)
  • Styling Lash Perfect Film Mascara (¥1,980)
  • Nail Lacquer (9 colors) & Top Coat (2 types) (¥1980)
  • Blendable Cheeks Blush (6 colors, ¥2980)

(Source 1, Source 2.)

With other gal brands such as CECIL McBEE and LIZ LISA also rolling out their own cosmetics lines, EMODA seems to have taken the plunge into the makeup market at just the right time. And really, it’s quite a brilliant move, given that EMODA’s seasonal collections always include some sort of signature makeup look. What better way to recreate a runway-perfect face than with the brand’s own line of cosmetics?

Check out these photos from the launch party taken from the brand’s Facebook page as well as snaps from designer Mina Nagamine’s and model Alice Fujikawa’s blogs.

Anna Sui Cosmetics Japan has updated their website with the new Fall 2012 collection, ”Rebel Girl”. Keep in mind shades #400 and #600 are Japan exclusives! If you can’t read Japanese, you can find more info on the new products here.

Anna Sui cosmetics are extremely popular in Japan and other Asian countries. If you don’t own anything from them yet, it’s really worth giving it a try!

rockonannasui:

Just like I promised, here’s my next giveaway!

  • Trompe L’oeil Embroidered Jean print travel makeup pouch
  • Nail Art Color N #270 “Purple Glow”
  • Moisturizing Lotion Sample
  • Moisturizing Gel Cream sample x 2
  • Moisturizing Eye Treatment Cream sample x 2

Anna Sui skincare is fairly expensive, so it’s normal people would be hesitant about ordering online when they can’t even try it out first. Now’s your chance to finally try the very luxurious Anna Sui skincare products, and perhaps finally finding that moisturizer you’ve been waiting for!

Along with the samples are one of Anna Sui’s most popular products, the nail polishes. Nail Art Color N #270 is a matte “Purple Glow” color, ideal for fancy deco nails on top of being a decoration itself on your drawer or vanity!

Then the whole comes inside a practical travel makeup pouch with a cute trompe l’oeil embroidery on denim print (I LOVE trompe l’oeil prints) and with Anna Sui’s gold rose logo double zippers. There’s a little pocket on the inside to store your samples or some cotton pads, and a drawstring pouch for everything else. This whole kit was the latest Gift with Purchase at my local Anna Sui counter, and since I already have it once, I decided to give it away!

Great! Now how do I get in?

  1. First, you need to be following Rock on! Anna Sui.
  2. Second, you need to have reblogged this post!

You must be 18 or older to enter.

Open to residents of North America only — sorry!

Tumblr is not associated with this contest in any way, shape or form.

Retail value of the prize is not applicable because of the samples.

Anna Sui Spring 2012 Collection e-MOOK preview and mini-review! (As much as someone who can’t read Japanese can review a Japanese publications, haha)

This year, Anna Sui’s e-Mook is loaded will cool stuff. Look for yourself in the table of contents!

While I can’t read them yet I think all Anna Sui e-Mooks are worth getting. They are filled with amazing photoshoots and feature Anna’s alternate lines (Dolly Girl, Anna Sui Mini and her Japanese licensed goods) which are otherwise quite hard to reach and Spring 2012’s is no exception. What I particularly love about it is the “Anna Sui Collection Archive” with two pictures of every single collection Anna has done and an English keyword to sum them up (and Japanese text under.) On top of that, it comes with an iPad case (which I’ll use to carry my books) and a makeup pouch! Here’s a few pictures for you:

Typical Anna Sui style!

Just behind the black makeup pouch is the screen protector for the iPad. It’s useful because you can put cards, pens and whatnot in the fishnet pocket!

Yes, Anna Sui is fashion is “loud”, but it also meticulous about detail. Gotta love it!

So yes, if you get a chance to grab the Spring 2012 e-Mook, by all means jump on it! Especially considering how hard it is now to find a copy. It went out of print extremely fast and after printing 100, 000 extra copies, it’s already on its way to be out of print again. But there are a few left over at Amazon.co.jp!

P.S.: You see that makeup look on the fourth picture? That’s what I’m going to post a tutorial from with the Beach 2012 Collection Eye & Lip Color Palette!! Stay tuned ;)

A must for Japanese magazines and mooks collectors.

But, I need moisture… wish I could be trouble-free!
Hey, can’t you grant me this self-indulgence?

Moreover, rinsing not needed, wipe-off type.

The ingredients of beauty soak deeply into the skin for a fresh, vibrant complexion.
With one bottle, an “All-in-one lotion” that completes your skincare!
Fragrance of white rose, for a graceful skincare time.

Balancing Lotion
190 ml, 3,150 yen with tax (3,000 pre-tax)

Usage Method

Add a small amount to a cotton swab (about a teaspoon), apply slowly and carefully onto clean skin.
